My background:

My journey into recruitment began somewhat by accident, sparked by a spur-of-the-moment decision to move to London. At the time, I was working in property with Knight Frank, helping to settle and lease off-the-plan residential developments. But after two years of walking around with a big arrow sign and showing apartments, I craved something more challenging. The adventure of working and living overseas beckoned.

That’s how I found myself at a startup tech and challenger consultancy, operating out of a house near Waterloo. We worked around a kitchen table, and I quickly found myself resourcing for a wide range of roles, from developers to transformation directors, all the way up to the C-suite. It was fast-paced, dynamic, and gave me a real taste for the recruitment industry.

More recently, I had the chance to work with a couple of outstanding recruitment businesses that focused on the UK’s public sector, including central and local government, universities, charities, and the NHS. These experiences gave me insight into how impactful good recruitment can be in sectors that directly affect people’s lives.

After over eight years in the UK, I’ve returned home to Melbourne, where I’m now focused on helping to grow Ambition’s presence in the Technology and Transformation market.

One of the core principles that has guided me throughout my career is the belief that candidates and clients should be treated alike. Great recruitment is built on genuine, long-term relationships not just transactions.
