R U OK Day 2021

With most of Australia navigating lockdown or restrictions, it is more important than ever to check-in with our colleagues, family and friends to ask R U OK?

R U OK? is a harm prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives. Their mission is to inspire and empower people to meaningfully connect with those in their world and lend support when they are struggling with life.

At Ambition and AccountAbility, we took part in a group workshop, hosted by Alison Hutchens of Mind Body Energy. The key themes of this workshop were stress management, resilience, and the importance of mental health in everyday life. Alison was a fantastic, sharing with us key insights and tangible actions on how to recognise and manage your stress response.

After the workshop, we were paired with a colleague and took part in a virtual ‘Cuppa and Convo’ exercise where we have the opportunity to call our colleagues and check-in with them over a hot beverage and maybe even a biscuit or two!

Although we are still distanced physically, days like RU OK Day? are a reminder to remain connected. At Ambition and AccountAbility we hope to equip our employees with the knowledge and tools to succeed in their roles and everyday life. Today is a reminder to invest in our wellbeing, have open conversations and connect with one another. Our aim is to continue to build a sense of belonging across our people that will help to support them and the overall development of a more effective, productive, creative, and peaceful workplace.
