Ambition Uncovered Melbourne: Working with the Beacon Foundation

As part of our ongoing commitment to the wider community, Ambition hosted a successful event in support of The Beacon Foundation.

The Beacon Foundation work with young people across Australia within communities and areas of high youth disengagement and unemployment, to support them in making a successful transition from education to meaningful employment.

Over the past four years, we have built a relationship with students from Mortlake College in rural Victoria. A group of fifteen eager students joined us for a jam-packed day of interactive workshops run by a combination of Consultants and Managers from our Melbourne office. The day focused on various aspects of job seeking and finding success through the job application process with topics such as listening and communication, personal brand in the employment market and CV writing. The students also had a lot of fun taking part in the marshmallow challenge to develop their skills in collaboration, innovation and creativity. The engagement level amongst the students was fantastic as they fed back enthusiastically many takeaways from the day.

The consultants that volunteered in the day gained a lot from their experience and we are very much looking forward to continuing our relationship with the school and the Beacon Foundation.
