Last week we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Linda McEvilly, Ambition Group's, People & Culture Manager.
During the last 10 years at Ambition Australia, one ever-present voice of calm and reason has been our devoted HR & P&C leader Linda McEvilly. Linda has played a crucial role for so many of us throughout that time, including guiding us (both in terms of legislation, best practice and simply what is right and fair) through some of the most substantial changes that have ever happened to the recruitment industry and those who work as part of it.
Her role is complicated and ever-changing but Linda approaches every day with the enthusiasm of someone who started yesterday and with the personal care, patience and consideration of a friend you've known for life. Warm, honest, approachable, funny, caring, calm and wise, I really don't know what I would do without her. And what better role model for trust, flexibility, and remote work than a HR and P&C leader who supports the Australia group from Ireland!?
I asked Linda how she felt about this massive achievement and she so humbly shared...
What can I say…. it’s easy to rack up 10 years with a company that has supported me both personally and professionally over the years. There have been ups and downs, of course, but I’m still here and there are many reasons for that, including the belief I have in the company and our leadership team. During the past 10 years at Ambition, I have learned so much, met some of the most amazing people, advanced my HR career, met my partner, had 2 beautiful children, and most recently moved back to Ireland where I now work remotely. Thank you Ambition for all your support… I’m looking forward to the next 10!

I joined Ambition 3 years ago, and when I was introduced to Linda, it was obvious to me why she was in the role of People & Culture Manager. She is warm. engaging and so knowledgeable, not only in all things people and culture but her tenure with Ambition was made obvious by how well she knew the business. It was great to join a new business at a senior level and have Linda in this role who could help with any questions I had. Linda has always been based in another state from me so when I heard about her wishes to go back home to Ireland, I was fully supportive, as I knew that she could do this role and still be a great support from anywhere. Well done Linda on 10 years with Ambition, you are a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with you for the next 10 years. :)

Linda has to be one of the top, if not the top, HR professionals I've ever worked with. She possesses all the critical knowledge for the role and has the ability to stay up to date with nascent rules and regulations. She's at all times calm, professional, and totally trustworthy. All of those attributes are great things but the real thing Linda has that's rare is her ability to connect so easily with such a wide range of people. She's professional but not stuffy or corporate and people immediately feel at ease with her and that they can trust her. She's down to Earth, kind and has a great sense of humour! She just wants to best for all of our people and we're so lucky to have her!

What an absolute joy it's been to work with Linda over the years. From a workmate to a really good mate... to a really good workmate (again). It's been great to see her grow into various different roles and take on many different responsibilities without any hassle whatsoever. No one knows more about the integral parts of the overall Ambition business. Linda goes above and beyond constantly and is a key member of our group.
