Senior Treasury Accountant
Job description
Urgently seeking a Senior Treasury Accountant for a 4-month maternity leave cover.
This role will see you join an ASX-listed Infrastructure giant.
Reporting to the Treasury Accounting Team Leader within Finance Operations & Transformation, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process for periodic swap and loan payments, including valuation updates, securing necessary approvals, uploading payment details, and ensuring timely authorisation and release.
- Monitor and update daily cash flow positions, maintaining clear and prompt communication with the treasury front office team.
- Ensure foreign exchange rates are accurately maintained within the ERP system.
- Execute a range of treasury transactions such as interbank transfers, placement and recall of deposits, foreign exchange settlements, and dividend distributions across various entities.
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations using the Blackline platform to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support the upkeep and optimisation of treasury and banking systems, contributing to system integrity and efficiency.
- Assist with month-end close activities including accounting for financial instruments under AASB 139/9, preparing bank-related journal entries, conducting valuation and effectiveness testing, and allocating interest.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and reports, with clear identification of financing activities such as borrowings and repayments.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to address treasury-related queries and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support to the Treasury Analyst in preparing budgets and forecasts for interest and borrowing costs, and assist in compiling compliance documentation for managed investment entities.
Your Background
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting and/or Finance.
- CPA or CA certification required.
- Experience in a corporate treasury or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, accounting, tax, and legal aspects of treasury.
- Proficiency in treasury systems and derivative pricing is highly advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
