Tax Senior

We are recruiting multiple Tax contractors for year end, for one of our clients who is a well-known fund manager. The Tax Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate delivery of distributions deliverables on a frequency determined by the service level agreement (SLA) with the client. The position also requires accurate and professional resolution of all internal and external queries in a complete and timely manner. The Funds Tax Specialist will be responsible for providing technical input and operational support on accounting and tax related matters relevant to team's deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Review of Tax deliverables for Investment Manager clients such as distributions, BAS, tax returns
  • Ensure that all deliverables are updated, completed and delivered according to agreed timetables and client SLAs
  • Provide assistance to the Senior Tax Manager in relation to financial reporting and tax related issues
  • Assist and facilitate communication with clients on their reporting requirements and queries
  • Support the overall team for Financial Year end deliverables which may include other Financial Reporting products such as Trial Balances, Financial Statements, Indirect Cost Ratio, ABS reporting and AASB7 reporting.
  • Manage daily operations including responsibility and accountability for the supervision of team of staff as well as reporting to management.
  • Ensure that J.P. Morgan's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are kept up to date and develop any client specific SOPs as required.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new and existing staff.
  • Identify and provide practical solutions to accounting, tax and legal issues for a wide range of clients.
  • Liaison with external Auditors .

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 4 years' experience in financial accounting/tax within financial and/or professional services
  • CA or CPA Qualified.
  • Experience in tax reporting specifically in income tax returns and trust distribution calculation
  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles in relation to the funds management industry.
  • Effective planning and time management skills, with demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to managing dynamic workload and overtime during financial year end
  • Experience in a CA or CPA firm would be highly regarded
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including high emotional intelligence to partner effectively with stakeholders
  • Additional experience in statutory reporting and applications of accounting standards in accordance with AASB
