Network and Security Services Specialist

This role supports critical digital operations, ensuring secure, reliable and high‑performing network services that enable essential service delivery to the community.

The Opportunity

The Security & Network Specialist will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the organisation's network and security environments. The successful candidate will support monitoring, security incident response, operational stability, and performance optimisation across a large, multi‑site digital footprint.

This role suits someone proactive, technically strong and able to collaborate effectively across multiple internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability and performance of network and security services, including monitoring and log integration.
• Manage priorities across BAU support, cyber security activities and project deliverables.
• Provide timely response to security alerts and incidents, including triage and root cause analysis.
• Meet project milestones and BAU service levels in a busy environment.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate work priorities.
• Cooperate across digital and business teams to deliver customer‑focused technology outcomes.
• Produce performance dashboards and metrics for network and security operations.
• Identify, assess and escalate operational risks and issues appropriately.

Technical Requirements

Essential

• Strong experience with Cisco switching and routing
• Hands‑on expertise in Cisco FMC & FTD firewalls
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining network and security services across multiple locations
• Skills across LAN/WAN, routing, firewalls, network performance management and troubleshooting

Highly Desirable / Desirable

• Netscaler administration (F5 experience considered)
• Fortinet firewalls and management stack
• Cisco wireless
• VPN and wireless communications
