Middle Office Operations Analyst - Fixed Income Fund Manager

Our client is a global fixed-income investor managing over AUD $15 billion for institutional and retail clients. The Firm focuses on generating alpha from long and short security-specific positions through highly quantitative proprietary models. The team includes a total of 47 talented, full-time staff located in our offices in London, Miami, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
About the role
Reporting to the Global Middle Office lead (Sydney based) the role will span all areas of middle office operations along with project work, such as onboarding clients and new account setups. This role is full time.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversight of the full trade life cycle through to settlement
- Cash reconciliation on all accounts and provision of funding for daily investment activity
- Resolving queries and issues emanating from custodians and counterparties.
- Ensuring integrity of static data and account onboarding.
- Daily portfolio checks & trade reconciliations.
- Derivatives trade bookings and managing daily collateral.
- Daily derivative reconciliations adhering to global regulatory reporting standards.
Skills:
To be successful in your application you ideally will need to have previous experience in fund or custody operations, or within a middle office role at an investment bank. More importantly is the motivation and enthusiasm to excel and carve out a career in investment management. You will have a sound understanding of the financial markets and thrive in a high-intensity work environment where the whole team shares the same intense work ethic and passion to excel. We are a highly quantitative team, so advanced excel is mandatory, and vba/python coding is highly desirable.
