KYC Associate
The KYC / AML Associate plays a key role in supporting the investor onboarding process by ensuring that all client due diligence is performed in accordance with AML/CTF regulations and internal compliance frameworks. This role sits within the Client Services team and reports to the Senior Manager, Client Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and reviewing KYC documentation for wholesale and sophisticated investors
- Conducting AML/CTF checks and risk assessments in accordance with the Compliance Policy
- Identifying and escalating high-risk or complex investor profiles
- Maintaining accurate and auditable investor records
- Managing FATCA/CRS self-certifications and flagging discrepancies
- Liaising with investors, advisers, and internal distribution teams to gather outstanding documentation or clarify compliance queries
- Providing timely updates on onboarding status and potential compliance issues
- Coordinating with internal team such as Compliance and Legal on enhanced due diligence cases
- Updating onboarding progress and risk flags in the CRM
- Assisting with internal compliance reporting and audit trails
- Supporting periodic KYC refreshes and ongoing client due diligence reviews
- Ad hoc compliance tasks as directed by the executive team
Qualifications, Knowledge & Technical Prerequisites
- Recently completed or near completion of a degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field
- Familiarity with the AML/CTF Act, FATCA/CRS obligations, and AUSTRAC guidance (desirable)
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in private credit, commercial real estate, or financial markets
- A proactive and organised work style
