Head of Loan Management

Location: Sydney or Melbourne

Reports to: Head of Credit

Direct Reports: Loan Management Officers & Loan Servicing Officers


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Loan Management to lead the end-to-end loan servicing and management function across the full loan lifecycle, from settlement through to discharge. This is a critical leadership role that ensures operational excellence, compliance, and strategic uplift within a growing non-bank lending environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage both Loan Servicing and Loan Management teams.
• Oversee all loan lifecycle events, including settlements, variations, extensions, and discharges.
• Ensure accuracy of interest calculations, direct debits, arrears management, and data integrity.
• Interpret and maintain credit documentation, including Condition Subsequences, and translate credit notices into operational requirements.
• Understand and manage the broader business implications of loan changes (legal, finance, trustee impacts).
• Drive process improvements, establish KPIs, and implement structural enhancements.
• Develop team capability through coaching, setting standards, and fostering a high-performance culture.

About You

• Strong credit background with confidence in reading and analysing credit documentation.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to see beyond task-level impacts.
• Experience in non-bank lending preferred (banking experience also considered).
• Proven leadership skills: calm, supportive, and approachable, with a focus on coaching and team development.
• Hands-on when required, but capable of lifting the function strategically.
• Comfortable managing an operational, sometimes reactive environment, while driving efficiency and improvement
