Financial Controller

A leading international technology business undergoing continued expansion is seeking a hands‑on, collaborative Financial Controller to support its APAC and EMEA operations on a 12‑month maternity leave contract.

This isn't a traditional senior FC role - it's ideal for someone who enjoys variety, taking ownership of day‑to‑day finance activities, and partnering with stakeholders across multiple regions. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills are essential, as you'll work closely with teams in Canada, the UK, Australia, and Asia in a remote‑first environment.

Reporting to the VP Finance, you'll provide oversight across core accounting processes and support a small regional finance team (Finance Manager - Sydney; Assistant Accountant - Manila). Your focus will be on ensuring smooth financial operations, accurate reporting, and effective coordination across the regions.

Responsiblities:

  • Support the regional finance team ( FM - Sydney & Assistatn Accountat - Manila) and act as the main point of contact for day‑to‑day accounting queries.
  • Manage the month‑end close for APAC and EMEA, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly results and insights for Head Office and ensure intercompany transactions are accurate and aligned with group standards.
  • Track performance against budget and forecast, providing clear variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Partner with Customer Success on revenue reporting, incentives, and commissions.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles with accurate and timely data.
  • Coordinate statutory reporting and external audits across AU, NZ, UK, and Singapore.
  • Oversee payroll processed by external providers and maintain strong controls and documentation.
  • Work closely with Group FP&A on analysis, modelling, and global finance initiatives.
  • Support consistency and process alignment across regions.

About you:

  • CPA/CA qaulified essentail
  • 5+ years' experience across accounting/finance, ideally within a multi‑entity or regional environment.
  • Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) is highly advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, analysis).
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively with finance and non‑finance stakeholders across multiple countries.
