Job description
Established business with a global footprint is recruiting for a Financial Controller.
As Financial Controller you will lead a dynamic finance team, ensuring excellent in financial operations, compliance, and reporting. You will lead process improvements, foster innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with all regulatory and audit obligations.
- Drive transformation across the finance function by implementing scalable processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and aligning operations with strategic growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a high-performing finance team, enhancing capability and engagement while serving as a technical authority on complex financial matters.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business to integrate finance into strategic planning and operational execution, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Oversee budgeting, taxation, and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivery of high-quality financial statements.
- Manage core finance operations including accounts receivable and payable, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and team development.
- Promote a culture of integrity, safety, and ethical leadership, ensuring adherence to workplace health and safety standards.
What You'll Bring
- CA qualification with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical accounting expertise in Australian Accounting Standards.
- Experience in Big 4 firm (essential).
- Strong preference will be given to candidates from Financial Services.
- Familiarity with Australian taxation obligations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Power BI experience is a plus.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Passion for process improvement and embracing change.
