Finance Manager

We are seeking a commercially astute Finance Manager to lead the finance function and partner closely with senior leadership. This is a hands-on, office-based role ideal for a proactive self-starter who thrives in a dynamic SME environment and enjoys full ownership of finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end finance function, including financial reporting, compliance, and operational finance.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term growth and profitability.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Deliver timely and insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
• Oversee cash flow management and working capital to ensure financial stability.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and controls.
• Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Administer payroll for a small team (approx. 10 staff), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate lodgement of BAS, GST, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with solid experience in a similar finance leadership role.
• Proven track record within a construction or project-based SME environment.
• Strong technical accounting skills combined with commercial acumen.
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking full ownership of the finance function.
• Experience with construction/project accounting systems is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
