Senior Technical Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting with accounting standards, providing guidance on complex accounting matters, and supporting the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business units in the group to provide technical accounting advice.
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, including footnotes and disclosures.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, leases, and financial instruments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure accounting policies are up-to-date and reflect current industry practices and regulatory requirements.
• Provide training and support to finance and accounting staff on technical accounting issues and new accounting standards.
• Lead or participate in special projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and due diligence activities.

What is on offer:

• $80 - $90 per hour + Super
• Immediate Start - 6 month contract with potential for perm

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CFO advisory/accounting advisory or a technical accounting role within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
