Senior Reinsurance Accountant

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen with a world leading Insurance company based in Sydney. This role will join a small team as a Senior Reinsurance Accountant working closely with the Reinsurance Manager.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the Reinsurance team and have excellent communication skills to collaborate across the business, driving reinsurance knowledge in stakeholders/functions across the company. This role will also involve supporting the upskilling of more junior team members within the Reinsurance team.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing complex scheme reconciliations (e.g. bordereau) and giving informed guidance and assistance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee facultative reinsurance portfolio
  • Manage offshore team to complete facultative reinsurance premiums payments and claims recoveries process.
  • Monthly settlement of treaty reinsurance, management of relevant monthly balance sheet minutes
  • Regulatory reporting

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant with Reinsurance/Insurance Industry experience
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a keen interest in Insurance
