Senior Financial Accountant

A leading Australian infrastructure company is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a January-start contract role.

A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing organisation on a 4-month contract starting in January. This business plays a critical role in Australia's connectivity, managing tower and rooftop-based assets that keep people connected every day.

This role suits someone with strong technical accounting experience, deep IFRS 16 knowledge and confidence working across multiple entities.

You will take ownership of the IFRS 16 process for the December year end and provide technical support across acquisitions and financial statement preparation. You will also work closely with external auditors and help streamline lease data across systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and update IFRS 16 models for existing and newly acquired entities

  • Review IFRS 16 outputs, prepare journals and complete movement analysis

  • Reconcile lease data and ensure accuracy across operational and finance systems

  • Update judgement papers, assumptions and straight line models

  • Support acquisition accounting and technical accounting papers

  • Work with external auditors and financial statement preparers

  • Provide ad hoc year end support as required

What we're looking for:

  • CA qualified with at least 5 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 16
  • Experience with lease management software and ERP systems
  • Strong Excel capability and confident reconciliation skills
  • Able to work well with finance, IT, legal and operational teams
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
