SENIOR DATA ANALYST ROLE - Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)

As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll play a critical role in shaping innovative, data-driven solutions that tackle real-world challenges. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex datasets, optimize business processes, and enhance engineering outcomes across multiple disciplines. A typical day in this role may include:

  • Collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored, forward-thinking solutions.
  • Partnering with engineering and digital teams, including Digital Engineering and Location Intelligence, to execute multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Identifying and addressing limitations within complex data ecosystems, developing effective alternatives to drive successful outcomes.
  • Making strategic decisions and taking corrective actions to ensure project success.
  • Managing, analyzing, and deriving insights from vast and intricate datasets using advanced big data tools and methodologies.
  • Translating data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that enhance business operations, processes, and products.
  • Proposing improvements for data collection, storage, and refinement.
  • Working alongside subject matter experts to address engineering challenges with data-driven approaches.
  • Driving business-wide collaboration to influence change and bring fresh ideas to life.
  • Developing solutions that deliver tangible benefits to the wider community.
  • Contributing to initiatives that support sustainability and positive societal impact.

To thrive in this role, you'll bring extensive experience as a Senior Data Analyst-whether in corporate or government settings. Expertise in Asset Management and/or the Water industry will be particularly valuable.

Key Expertise Required

  • Advanced skills in data transformation and interpreting new datasets.
  • Strong proficiency in BI platforms (e.g., Power BI).
  • Familiarity with FME, GIS, and Ellipse data (preferred but not mandatory).

Preferred Skills & Experience

Having any of the following will be an advantage:

  • A strong grasp of core data analytics, statistical methodologies, and asset-related data schemas.
  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing and complex data manipulation.
  • Passion for empirical research and solving tough challenges using data.
  • Proven ability to drive successful adoption and operationalization of analytical insights.
  • Expertise in analytical tools and cloud-based data services.
  • Understanding of structured and relational data manipulation.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and effectively.
  • A strategic and adaptable approach to precision-driven problem-solving.
  • Strong mentoring skills to support and guide junior team members.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, with a preference for Python-based development.
