SAP SAC Planning Architect

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design and own end-to-end planning solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud Planning

  • Define architecture standards, data models, and integration patterns across SAP and non-SAP environments

  • Drive best practice across SAC modelling, planning models, data actions, advanced formulas, allocations, and multi-dimensional planning

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to enterprise architecture principles

Implementation & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead SAC Planning implementations from discovery and blueprinting through to build, testing, and go-live

  • Partner with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

  • Provide architecture oversight and hands-on guidance to project teams throughout delivery

  • Support solution design decisions across planning, forecasting, and reporting workstreams

Integration & Data Management

  • Design and optimise integration with backend systems including SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and SAP BPC

  • Establish efficient data flows using live connections, OData, and SAC Data Import Services

  • Ensure data structures and planning models support enterprise reporting and forecasting needs

  • Work across SAP and non-SAP data sources to enable consistent and trusted planning data

Governance, Performance & Best Practice

  • Establish governance for SAC Planning models, content lifecycle, and release management

  • Drive best practice around performance optimisation, security, and data quality

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards across access, controls, and auditability

  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, user experience, and system capability

Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement

  • Act as the SME for SAC Planning across technical and business teams

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to SAC developers, analysts, and end users

  • Support training, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities

  • Work with senior stakeholders across finance and technology in a consultative, solution-led capacity

About You

We're looking for a seasoned SAP SAC Planning professional who can operate at both architecture and delivery level, with strong commercial and stakeholder-facing capability.

Required Experience

  • Strong experience in SAP with proven expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning

  • Demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale SAC Planning solutions

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of:

    • SAC Planning models

    • Data Actions

    • Advanced Formulas

    • Allocations

    • Story building / dashboards

    • Forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes

  • Experience integrating SAC with:

    • SAP S/4HANA

    • BW/4HANA

    • SAP BPC

    • Other enterprise / non-SAP systems where relevant

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, planning architecture, and enterprise reporting structures

  • Experience leading end-to-end implementations across design, build, testing, and go-live

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across finance, IT, and business teams

Desirable

  • Experience in finance transformation, FP&A, or enterprise performance management programs

  • Exposure to global or complex enterprise environments

  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience

  • SAP certifications across SAC / BW / S/4HANA (nice to have)
