Network Engineer - Sydney (Hybrid working)
We're looking for a Network Engineer to join an established in-house Infrastructure team in Sydney. This role offers a varied mix of project delivery and BAU support, with the opportunity to step up as the senior engineer across the team.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing, configuring, and supporting core network technologies including switching, routers, SD-WAN, and firewalls.
- Maintain and update technical specifications, standards, and documentation for network hardware, software, security, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Manage network configuration groups within the Change Management system.
- Leading projects and contributing to BAU operations, ensuring reliable and secure network performance.
- Monitor and improve network security and performance.
- Acting as the senior point of escalation within the team, mentoring colleagues, and setting technical standards.
- Engaging with senior stakeholders across the business, clearly articulating technical details in a way that supports decision-making.
- Ensure backups and disaster recovery meet business requirements and are regularly tested.
- Participating in an on-call roster and providing support for business-critical incidents.
- Travelling interstate on occasion, supporting regional projects and teams.
What we're looking for:
- CCNP or CCIE certifications.
- Hands-on experience with a large scale national network with an advanced data centre network
- Proven experience across a broad range of technologies (switching, routing, SD-WAN, firewalls, Zscaler).
- Strong communication skills, you'll be someone who can confidently present to the business and influence outcomes.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and support other engineers.
- Comfortable with travel and participating in an on-call roster.
