Financial Planning Analyst in Education

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Their group finance team is looking for a motivated FP/A analyst to support then team in delivering management reports and have an active role in their current process improvement projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Critically review trends and analyses in consolidated management reports information packs for discussions with Business Partners
  • Preparation of monthly management reports and analyses
  • Prepare long-term planning, including operational revenue and expenditure, and capital spend projections
  • Finalise detailed 5-year budgets with discussions with Business Partners
  • Assist in the preparation of financial performance sections of Board papers
  • Conduct research and analysis to develop financial models, financial evaluations and cost-benefit analyses for new and/or existing business initiatives
  • Support the redesign and implementation of the new budget process and liaise with the relevant IT teams
  • Work with Business Partners in the provision of monthly management reports and other standardised reports
  • Work with Financial Operations to provide accurate trend analyses in the preparation of budget, forecast and long-term planning bottom-up builds
  • Support in the drafting of budgets and forecasts, for Business Partners to finalise with individual business unit(s)
  • Seek advice from Financial Control on technical accounting matters as required to produce reliable budgets and forecasts for individual business units, and long-term planning

ABOUT YOU:

  • CPA / CA qualified or equivalent
  • Criminal check
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of financial modelling and scenario analyses
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong experience in analysing, manipulating and summarising large volumes of data in a robust and controlled manner
  • Demonstrated experience forecasting and re-forecasting against financials
  • Strong financial modelling expertise to produce business models
  • Strong experience working with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (preferably FinanceOne) Other Specific Conditions
