Financial Reporting Manager

Are you an experienced financial reporting specialist looking to step into a senior role where you can influence outcomes, uplift processes, and shape the reporting function? We are partnering with a fast‑growing financial services organisation to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager on a 12‑month fixed term contract. The Role

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a key part in delivering accurate, timely financial, management and statutory reporting, while ensuring a robust control environment. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you'll oversee general ledger governance, drive reporting process improvements, and support key regulatory and statutory deliverables.

You'll also provide day‑to‑day oversight, coaching and guidance to Financial Accountants and Analysts, helping uplift capability and embed high‑quality, consistent financial reporting practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage consolidation and reconciliation of financial data across multiple sources to support statutory, regulatory and management reporting
  • Support month‑end reporting, including reviewing results, preparing analysis, and assisting senior leadership with commentary.
  • Maintain and enhance the general ledger structure, ensuring complex transactions, new accounts and cost centres are accurately captured.
  • Lead intercompany settlements and ensure high‑quality financial data flows across group entities.
  • Partner with the tax team on monthly journals, annual returns, GST treatment, and ad hoc tax reporting requirements.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and support internal and external audit processes.
  • Develop board and committee papers, plus accounting position papers on new standards or reporting issues.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Operations, and Risk teams to resolve finance system issues and implement process improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, strong financial controls and cross‑functional collaboration across the finance function.

About You

You will be a highly capable finance professional with strong technical skills and proven experience leading reporting processes in a regulated environment.

You will ideally bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification with approx. 10 years' experience across financial services, banking, life insurance, or funds management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around AASB, consolidations and financial instruments.
  • Experience managing financial control, month‑end processes and statutory reporting cycles.
  • Demonstrated process improvement capability and the confidence to challenge and uplift existing reporting frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or coaching team members within a finance environment.
