Financial Accountant - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

The Client
Our client, a global advertising and marketing agency are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Sydney team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will have prior experience working within an advertising agency.

The Role

As the Financial Accountant you will be reporting to the Finance Director and responsible for the following:

• Month/quarter/year-end processes and reconciliations i.e. preparation of month-end journals including revenue, expense accrual and ad-hoc journals.
• Balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger review, inter-company transaction reporting,
• Assist with analysis and review of revenue by clients and their profitability to support commercial financial insights for internal stakeholders
• Liaise and work with Group Account Directors on monthly forecast and identify variances with targets set by Global.
• Jobs review for agency, ensure monthly revenue take-ups, and advise job teams to closed completed jobs.
• Review and approve the journals, forecast, retainer timesheets, and regional reports.
• Preparation of the monthly client overview reports, with explanation of Billing and revenue variances, client profitability performance and debtor's ratios (KPIs).
• Preparation and reporting of Fixed Assets schedules

Qualifications and Skills:

• CPA/CA qualified
• Prior experience working for an advertising company
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced excel skills beneficial
