Finance Project Manager

I'm partnering with a leading FMCG company in looking for their next Finance Project Manager to drive their financial reporting in their period of transition.

The role would suit candidates with strong financial accounting experience coupled with good and empathetic communication and an inquisitive mindset.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Group Poject Manager, you will be looking after the following:

Group financial reporting - financial statement preparation and audit offshoring (40%)

  1. Maximise outsourcing 95% of activities associated with preparation of financial statements, ensuring quality and minimised rework to enable only high-level reviews taking place onshore.
  2. Centralise, standardise and re-distribute audit activities to maximise offshoring of coordinating, liaising, data samples collation.

Delivery includes:

  • Drive and manage development of future state by: documenting current state processes/process maps for transitioning activities, determine process change, hand off points, flows.
  • Engage onshore & offshore team to identify existing current blockers & challenges
  • Develop & rollout offshore SLA/ quality benchmarks to measure above, eliminate hand-offs and quality assurance rework driving current duplicate effort.
  • Manage communications and coordination with other BAU functions and embed new processes, ways of working and offshore accountabilities.
  • Recommend automation / continuous improvements ie: in FCCS or SAP.

Month end coordination offshoring (20%)

  • Lead delivery of standardised and centralised month end coordination into a single point of contact role/ offshore.

Journals (40%)

  • Reduction in volume of journals through adherence to redefined materiality thresholds.
  • Eliminate duplicate effort across onshore and offshore ad hoc journal request process
  • Identify high manual effort journals with the assistance of IT delivery partners
  • Include, process mapping and documenting business processes and protocols, current and future state.
  • Assist manage communications and coordination with other BAU functions to embed new processes
  • Assist manage above rollout dependencies with intercompany journal initiative

Project management:

  • Identify and manage initiative risks, blockers and issues, including reporting to Senior transformation Lead and presenting decision recommendations.
  • Support preparation & planning for transformation workshops where necessary.

ABOUT YOU

  • CPA or CA qualified
  • Offshoring experience is a MUST.
  • Resourcefulness in dealing with ambiguity and driving change to deliver outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability in building relationships and networks, business partnering and influencing peers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skill in process mapping for current & future state.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, business delivery and identifying risks/issues.
  • Skilled in communicating complex information simply and concisely, both verbally and in written presentations
