I am partnering with an exciting and up-and-coming startup business in recruiting for their Finance Manager to provide support to the team, as the CFO looks after the next phase of the business.

Having recently wrapped up the series A of investments, your next employer is position itself in the market with their leading research and procuct offering.

With a potential to go permanent, and potential sposorship for working holiday visa holders, the role would suit an experienced senior financial accountant who is looking for a step up, or a finance manager who has previously established reporting processes from scratch, lead external audit and provided mentorship to more junior staffs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting the the CFO, you will be looking after the following:

  • Provide support in ensuring adequate governance, policies, procedures and control frameworks across the business to address key risks and integrity of the financial results.
  • Assisting with the implementation of accounting policies in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Leading/assisting with the external audits for FY22 and FY23 and preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assisting with the implementation of a robust management reporting process, delivering month-end close and assist in the preparation of board reporting.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet, including review of all balance sheet reconciliations and tax returns - Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Payroll.
  • Provide an environment to promote the coaching and development of the Assistant Accountant
  • Business partner for the operations team as required.

ABOUT YOU

  • CA/ CPA qualified
  • A minimum of 4/5 years' experience in an end-to-end accounting role in a medium sized organisation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads.
  • Positive can-do attitude and team player.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously.
  • Flexible approach to work planning.
  • Previous experience with XERO is an advantage
  • Immediately available

ABOUT THE BENEFITS

  • 6 months fixed term contract which means you are entitled to statutory benefits (annual leave, sick leave, etc)
  • Pay - maximum $140,000 package inclusive of super + $10,000 completion bonus
  • With potential to go permanent and sponsorship (for working holiday visa holders)
  • Flexibility - with 4 days work from home and 1 day onsite in the South Coast
  • Shorter working day when you are working onsite to account for the travel
