ePMO Lead

Job description

Our client is local council based in the south eastern suburbs who are currently looking to hire an ePMO Lead. This person will come onboard to drive portfolio governance and look to continuously improve their project management framework.

The Enterprise Project Management Office aims to develop and apply the Project Management Framework across the organization, ensuring effective project delivery across a range of capital and IT project in the pipeline for the next 3-4 years.

Key Objectives & responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing team of 2 to drive project management governance and best practice.
  • Build project management maturity and capability.
  • Continuously improve the project management framework.
  • Provide effective project and portfolio reporting.
  • Support project managers and sponsors.
  • Manage and improve the portfolio project management system and ensure it aligns with organizational PM maturity.
  • Manage organizational relationships both internally and externally. Successfully managing organisational change is a crucial component to its success.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Ensuring risk management systems and processes are being used to effectively identify and mitigate project and portfolio risk.

Position Relationships: Reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Interacts with the Executive Management Team, Project Services Team, and other staff involved in project delivery. Also engages with external contacts such as contractors, suppliers, local authorities, statutory bodies, and software providers.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Previously led an ePMO function and driven continuous improvement at the portfolio level.
  • Been involved in developing and implementing a project management framework.
  • Good understanding of what it takes to deliver a capital project and the risks associated with this.
  • Looking for this person to be a great collaborator and influencer across the organisation. There are many different stakeholders that need to be involved on the journey together.
