Azure Systems Administrator

Job description

After moving into a pure Azure cloud environmnent this major Austalian Infrastructure giant are now looking for an Azure Systems Administrator to work on a very project focussed role migrating new SAAS systems into Azure.

Strong Azure Access management and Configuaration skills within Azure are highly desirable.



Duties and Responsibilities

As a Business Systems Administrator you will:


  • Manage day-to-day operations of systems in guidelines with operational policy and Digital Finance Strategy
  • Ensure integrity of work systems is maintained through implementing effective processes and collaborate with stakeholders for their adoption and compliance
  • Develop and implements control environment to ensure compliance to advised processes by systems operators and report on the compliance outcome
  • Manage appropriate access for staff in guidelines with operating model and Transgrid internal controls advice
  • Identify data requirements for effective operations of systems in-line with data & system architecture principles as well as Digital Finance Strategy
  • Design, Implement and manage day-to-day effective data transfers procedures & processes to ensure timely and accurate data is available across relevant systems for their effective operations
  • Identify and recommend automation opportunities for data flows between systems and collaborate with relevant stakeholders for their implementation in line with Transgrid data & systems architecture guidelines and digital finance strategy
  • Manage the support model for systems to ensure effective availability of support for all layers of infrastructure, network, application and other interfaces, in collaboration with Transgrid IT in a shared responsibility model

Skills & Experience

What we expect from you:


  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in business systems, IT, Data management or in a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ Years of experience in a similar working role focused around systems administration, management and implementation
  • Broad based skillset and capability in data management and systems administration as well as basic level familiarity with financial and/or management accounting principles and guidelines
  • Ability to use Microsoft data tools for data extraction, wrangling and preparation.
  • Familiarity with use of API based ELT and ETL procedures and common industry tools.
  • Familiarity to management and implementation of major commonly known ERPs (e-g, SAP, Oracle, etc.) from commonly known key vendors in Australian market
  • Working knowledge of multi cloud strategies, cloud environments and technology stacks on which major key provider of cloud systems operate
  • Good level of understanding of systems integration environments, methodologies and implication of different integration models
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and SharePoint)
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement skills to iteratively develop tools & raise internal capability
  • Strong data management skills, with a proven experience designing and managing different strategies and practices in data and related services

This role is based in either CBD or North Western Sydney with the ability to work from home 4 days per week. there is also the option of working a 9 day fortnight.
