Tax Compliance Manager
My client is a market-leading corporate with one of the largest and most iconic brands in Australia. This company is renowned for providing an excellent working culture coupled with developmental opportunities. You will be working alongside some very talented individuals with an international exposure as well. They now have an exciting opening for a Tax Compliance Manager to join their group tax team.
Reporting to the Group Tax Manager this high-profile role will specifically be responsible for ensuring that the companies legislative and accounting policies are kept up to date from a taxation perspective, implementing changes as and when required, preparation of the tax calculations, getting involved in tax planning, and other elements of taxation required for the organisation.
The key accountabilities of this position will include but not be limited to: income tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns, indirect tax compliance including preparation of FBT, GST and payroll tax returns, tax effect accounting, day to day tax advice to the business in relation to direct, indirect and international employment taxes, preparation of transfer pricing agreements and documentation, group tax planning and structuring, development and implementation of tax risk management policies and procedures, liaise with external stakeholders to ensure the organisations position on tax is strong, including government bodies and specialist legal and financial advisers, implementation of process and system changes where necessary, and getting involved in other ad-hoc change and project work as and when required by management.
You will be a highly ambitious chartered accountant or qualified lawyer with a background in commerce and or law, and you will currently be working in a chartered environment within the tax and legal division or working in a blue chip business in their in house tax team. Exposure to International Taxation will be looked upon favourably. This is a hands on role, where the candidate will have to get into the detail. Further, the successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to confidently liaise with stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation. The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously, while also be able to contribute to the success of this collaborative team.
