Shared Services Manager

We are partnering with a well-established organisation to appoint a Shared Services Manager to lead transactional finance operations across accounts payable and receivable.

This is an important leadership role within finance, where you'll play a key part in ensuring efficient, accurate and well-controlled service delivery across high-volume transactional activities. You'll contribute to strengthening controls, enhancing working capital outcomes, improving stakeholder experience, and supporting process improvement and automation initiatives.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the shared services function with responsibility for end-to-end AP and AR operations, month-end support, reconciliations, and ongoing operational performance.

This role offers the opportunity to influence broader finance outcomes through strengthening controls and governance, supporting cash flow, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
  • Ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, and month-end support
  • Maintaining strong transactional controls, compliance, and governance practices
  • Supporting working capital performance through debtor management, collections, and payment processes
  • Building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
  • Driving process simplification, standardisation, and automation, including finance systems optimisation
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing a high-performing shared services team, fostering accountability and capability

About You

You are an experienced shared services or transactional finance leader with a strong background in AP/AR operations and team leadership within high-volume environments. You bring a thoughtful balance of operational rigour, people leadership, stakeholder focus, and a genuine passion for continuous improvement.

You will likely offer:

  • Strong leadership experience across accounts payable and receivable
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in operational or shared services environments
  • A solid understanding of financial controls and governance frameworks
  • Experience delivering process improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused and service-oriented mindset
  • The ability to guide teams through change in a supportive and inclusive way

Additional experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualification (preferred, though not essential)
  • Experience within shared services or transactional finance functions
  • Exposure to medium to large, multi-site organisations
  • ERP systems and finance transformation experience will be highly regarded
