Senior People & Culture Business Partner

Are you a confident, people-centric HR leader who thrives on partnering closely with the business, shaping culture, and influencing meaningful change? Our client is seeking an experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join their collaborative P&C team and deliver real impact across a diverse, unionised workforce.

This is a full-time, stand-alone role with 4 days onsite, offering breadth, autonomy, and genuine influence. It is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being close to operations, supporting leaders across both strategic and day-to-day people matters, and working in a blue-collar environment where practical, hands-on HR support is essential.

You'll also bring strong ER/IR expertise to advise on award and EA interpretation, support agreement negotiations, lead investigations, manage disputes, and build constructive relationships with union stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnering & Leadership Support

  • Coach and mentor leaders across performance, succession, engagement, and change.
  • Lead initiatives that lift employee experience and help build a high-performance culture.

About the Role

As a Senior P&C Business Partner, you will play a critical role supporting leaders across your business unit or region. You'll provide strategic guidance across organisational capability, coach leaders to lift performance, and drive initiatives that elevate engagement, talent development, and workforce planning.

This is a stand-alone role, so you'll need to be comfortable working autonomously, building trusted relationships across the business, and balancing strategic input with hands-on operational support. Blue-collar experience is essential, along with the ability to navigate the pace, complexity, and practical realities of an industrial environment.

  • Support workforce planning and guide leaders through organisational changes.

Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Provide expert ER/IR support across awards, EA interpretation, negotiations, investigations, and disputes.
  • Equip leaders with capability in performance management and HR processes.
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes and industrial relations trends.

People & Culture Initiatives

  • Support the delivery of the People & Culture functional plan.
  • Champion P&C policies and practices within the business.
  • Contribute to talent acquisition, onboarding, and leader induction processes.

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you are:

  • An experienced HR Business Partner with a strong background in ER/IR.
  • Confident working in a unionised or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience working in a blue-collar environment; this is essential.
  • Comfortable operating in a stand-alone role with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Available to work full-time in a role that requires 4 days onsite.
  • A natural coach with excellent influencing, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in change management, workforce planning, and talent processes.
  • Commercially astute, curious, and passionate about creating positive and sustainable people outcomes.

Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, or a related field are essential.
