Senior Financial Accountant

We're partnering with a growing Sydney based business that's looking to add a Senior Financial Accountant into an established finance team.

This role is ideally suited to someone currently within Big 4 or mid tier Business Services or Advisory who is looking to take a first move into industry and gain broader commercial exposure.

Rather than remaining focused purely on compliance and reporting, this position offers the opportunity to work across a broad finance remit within a fast paced and evolving environment. You'll gain exposure across reporting, reconciliations, operational finance and process improvement while working closely with an experienced leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the monthly close process across allocated entities
• Preparation and posting of journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and revenue related adjustments
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances
• Assist with monthly management reporting and analysis of business performance
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assist with statutory reporting and compliance obligations
• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and audit ready documentation
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to support reporting and operational finance requirements
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and systems enhancements

Skills & Experience:

• CA or CPA qualified
• Big 4 or mid tier Business Services or Advisory background
• Approximately 4-6 years' experience, including exposure within a commercial environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and core accounting principle
• Experience working within fast paced or multi entity environments highly regarded
• Strong systems capability, with ERP exposure highly regarded
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non finance stakeholders
• Hands on attitude and willingness to learn within a growing business environment
