Opportunity:

The Senior Communication Manager will drive effective and engaging internal communication strategies to foster staff engagement with key priorities and contribute to a positive workplace culture across the whole Department. You will work across all levels ensuring that the strategic communications you deliver are relevant to the situation, audience and organisational goals.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in successfully delivering effective and engaging internal, organisational and/or change communication using a range of traditional and digital channels. You will have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to influence and negotiate across all levels from Senior Executive to front-line staff. You will display high levels of initiative, be able to think innovatively and drive communication outcomes that foster engagement and collaboration to deliver strategic goals.

You will lead the development and implementation of internal communication campaigns and programs. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage consultations and negotiations within agreed timelines, and oversee all aspects of communication planning, strategy development and implementation.

Key accountabilities

  • Plan, edit, coordinate, develop and manage various communication programs and campaigns;
  • Develop and deliver communication collateral working with the Department's communication and community engagement team;
  • Manage videographers or other communication and event service providers engaged by the Department;
  • Plan and project manage the creation/adaptation of rich content and other interactive components for internal communications deliverables;
  • Provide a range of project coordination, administration and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope;
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes;
  • Communicate with key internal stakeholders to facilitate exchange of information and support project reporting, monitoring and completion in line with project plans;
  • Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables;
  • Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends to support informed decision-making and planning.
