An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Engineer to join an Australian logistics and supply chain organisation, within their Sydney Head Office. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and support of IT network and security to ensure efficient, reliable, secure operation of IT systems and automated business processes throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and technical design of enterprise wide network and security solutions requiring multiple technologies
  • Diagnose problems, define and coordinate the implementation of solutions engaging other IT groups or external parties where required
  • Identify and resolve potential system problems, taking ownership of issues through to resolution
  • Evaluate and recommend new systems and/or system changes
  • Prepare designs of any new network or security systems that leads to implementation
  • Key decision maker for new systems in the network security space
  • Participation as a technical lead on projects, as required

Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines
  • IT industry recognised certifications ie. CCNP qualification highly regarded
  • Extensive experience designing, building and supporting LAN/WAN, routing and switching solutions and troubleshooting network problems and issues
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Cisco, Next Generation Firewalls (Fortinet), F5 and Riverbed WAN Optimisation
  • Experience of wireless infrastructure, particularly in an 24/7 industrial environment
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure & AWS)
  • Experience with the development of IT solutions and strategies in medium to large companies
  • Experience in ISO 27001, PCI and other standard security specifications
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems and experience performing Linux system administration duties in previous roles required
  • Ability to quickly understand and utilise new concepts, processes and systems
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and analytical skills
