The Role

In this newly created role reporting to the Director, Financial Control & Treasury the Head of Tax & Treasury will provide specialist taxation and treasury leadership across the university.

You will be responsible for leading the tax function across the group and will be the subject matter expert for all taxation matters applicable to the group.

The role will develop a tax risk framework, executive taxation reporting, and will champion taxation awareness and compliance to all staff.

You will also lead the treasury function across the group, including driving effective relationships with external banks and debt markets.

You will drive best practice in to all aspects of internal treasury operations across the group, including working capital management, cashflow forecasting, investments and reconciliations.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualified, come from a large complex organisation and have a strong background in tax compliance including FBT, GST and BAS as well as having demonstrated experience in providing specialised tax advice to senior stakeholders.

You will also ideally have a strong treasury background with experience managing an investment portfolio and relationships with banking partners.

You will have the ability to build strong partnerships across all areas of the university and work with and influence a variety of key internal and external stakeholders.

It is essential that you can demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to identify, manage and solve complex organisational problems and develop appropriate strategies to aid decision making.

You will be a focused and driven individual with strong business acumen to influence the success of the University.
