My client is a very well known and reputable organisation within an industry experiencing high levels of growth and very strong demand. Based within Melbourne's South-Eastern suburbs, this organisation is known for their developmental opportunities and providing a great culture for their employees to grow and develop. Due to an internal promotion, they are currently seeking an experienced commercial professional with strong system skills to join their finance team as a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager on an initial 6 month contract, with the view to take this person on permanently afterwards. This is a highly visible role that will interact with senior level stakeholders on a regular basis, so you will have fantastic exposure within this circa $2b organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead the financial analysis and planning function whilst ensuring the budgeting/forecasting systems are maintained and being utilised efficiently and effectively. Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: ownership and leadership of business planning; ensuring integrity of financial data within budgeting/forecasting systems; implementing forecasting processes; ensuring business objectives are achieved; creation of budget and forecasting models; training and educating members of the organisation to efficiently and correctly use systems; making reporting improvements both within the systems and externally; analysis & driving improvements; management of annual budgets and monthly forecasts and strategic alignment of business strategies; system maintenance; and other ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified, ideally coming from a Big 4 or mid-tier environment. You will possess outstanding financial reporting and analysis skills, and have a proven track record of successfully partnering key stakeholders within the business. It therefore goes without saying that candidates coming out of highly commercial partnering environments within large complex businesses will be highly regarded. You will possess strong budgeting, planning and decision support experience too. Finally, you will be very strong and proficient in financial systems with proven achievements in creating new reports, system maintenance, creating budget models etc., as you will be the systems champion in this role.
