Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a Global Health and Wellness business, based in Surry Hills Sydney. This standalone role in Sydney offers flexibility and opportunities for remote working.


Reporting to the CFO in the US, the Financial Controller will oversee the financial reporting, financial control and compliance and business partnering with internal and external stakeholders. The role has no direct reports and is supported by an overseas Shared Service Centre.


The successful candidate will need to be experienced, a self-starter, driven, adaptable and possess excellent communication skills. Experience working for an SME business would be beneficial.


This is an urgent requirement and as such, would suit candidates who are available to start immediately or with short notice.


Duties include:

Reporting to the CFO in the US, the Financial Controller will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements
  • Oversee month end processes, reporting and consolidations
  • Drive effective financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Develop robust financial processes and analytical tools to monitor and report on all Australian based Corporate Entities
  • Manage the statutory obligations including preparation and lodgements of tax returns and tax liabilities
  • Liaise with external auditors and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support accounts payable and receivable
  • Support the Finance Leadership team in all strategic planning and business planning processes
  • Help identify strategies for business improvement with a view to improving service delivery

Skills

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting or related degree
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior financial reporting role
  • Advanced knowledge in preparing financial statements and handling month end processes and compliance
  • Experience with management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self- starter, driven and adaptable
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Experience in Netsuite advantageous or similar ERP system
