Finance Manager

A well-established and growing project-based SME business with operations in ANZ is recruiting for a Finance Manager.

This is a hands-on role in a lean team that offer high visibility, variety and the opportunity to truly own the finance function. Reporting directly to the Director, you will take ownership of the end-to-end finance while working closely with project teams and leadership.

This is a true all-rounder role, combining technical finance and operational involvement. Its suits someone who enjoys the pace and variety of an SME, can move between detail and the bigger picture and is comfortable partnering with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning the month-end close (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, variance analysis
  Managing AP/AR, cashflow and credit control
• Overseeing project accounting, WIP and revenue recognition.
• Preparing management reports and insights to support decision-making
• Managing payroll, compliance (BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax) and statutory reporting
• Act as Xero systems owner ensuring data integrity across systems
• Manage office administrator who supports invoicing and transactional processes

Skills:

• CPA /CA qualified
• Preference will be given to candidates from a project-based environment (Construction/Engineering)
• 10 years commercial experience with a minimum of three in a managerial role
• Strong communication with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience working on Xero
• High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership
