Innovation Engineer Lead

As the Innovation Engineer Lead you are responsible for leading and supporting complex change within tribes. You contribute to the IT strategy, development and execution of the Tribe roadmaps as you work across the tribes to enable effective and efficient delivery within our complex IT landscape. You will support the effective allocation of Innovation Engineer resources across the Delivery Organisation.

You do that by building the right capability within the Innovation Engineer chapter ensuring expertise and experience is the right fit for our organization. You focus on building craftsmanship by having continuous conversations and focus on both team and individual development to continue to embed expertise within the tribes.

In the execution of the Innovation Engineer lead component of the role you will:

  • Manage team of innovation engineers, utilising a "chapter lead" approach
  • Support tribes and squads in delivering value while ensuring technical dependencies are discussed and understood
  • Work with Architects and IT Area Leads to support senior management to make decisions on complex IT innovations and issues.
  • For major and complex changes you co-create road maps, inputting the IT perspective. You work closely with road managers who input the business perspective.
  • Create solution approach at the feature level and contribute on Epic level where multiple squads and multiple IT assets are involved
  • Work with Squads to build and enhance our internal applications and work with our partners and global entities to adopt and enhance third party applications
  • Implement continuous delivery practices, including test automation, frequent delivery to production, etc.
  • Release Change Management - make sure features are delivered into production according to the change management process (CAB, PRAM, cross tribe coordination, technical guidance, socialization)
  • Work with vendors and offshore partners to ensure their contribution to our change portfolio is successful and aligns to achieving the desired business outcomes
