Cloud Engineer - Azure

We're partnering with a large government organisation undertaking a significant cloud identity transformation and are looking for an experienced Cloud IAM Engineer to join the project team on an initial 5-month contract.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll play a key part in modernising Azure identity services, helping migrate legacy identity configurations to a secure, standardised cloud environment. You'll work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver a seamless migration while contributing to the organisation's broader cloud security strategy.

Responsibilities Include:

• Migrate Azure Entra ID users, groups, applications and identity services to a standardised RBAC and Managed Identity model.
• Design and implement secure identity and access management patterns across Azure environments.
• Work closely with project teams and business stakeholders to plan and execute migrations while managing technical exceptions.
• Represent the project in change advisory and technical governance forums.
• Deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
• Support the decommissioning of legacy identity services following successful migrations.

Experience needed:

• Demonstrated experience engineering and supporting Microsoft Entra ID within Azure environments.
• Deep understanding of Azure Identity, Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities and identity federation.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and working with modern DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Previous experience delivering identity or cloud engineering projects in large, complex enterprise environments.
