Assistant Accountant with 3 days work from home

Your next employer is a leading name in the non-profit sector, with different services in the community and a mission of genuinely serving the vulnerable. They are looking for a technically strong Assistant Accountant, to look after reporting and produce financials for decision making.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager, you will be looking after the following:

  • Produce timely and accurate Finance information for analysis and business decisions.
  • Assist during the month end close processing
  • Prepare working files and supporting documents for annual external financial audit as requested.
  • Process weekly and monthly journals to reflect income and expenses (including accruals)
  • Manage correspondence with other teams on ad-hoc queries
  • Assist team members with the work related to other business streams and ad-hoc requests
  • Developing stakeholder relationships within the wider finance team, thus good communication is ideal
  • Driving continuous improvement of processes, governance and efficiencies
  • Providing a collection of relevant data to assist with budgeting and forecasting, the operation of the team and production of regular reports.
  • Actively contributes to a safe and supportive working environment that is inclusive of all staff through celebrating their nationality, cultural background, LGBTI status, abilities, gender and age.

ABOUT YOU

  • Studying towards professional qualification in CPA/CA.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 preferred but not required.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar Finance & Accounting role.
  • Knowledge of corporate financial functions
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems as used in large scale service environments.
  • Skills in the operation of accounting software, Microsoft Office Apps, analytical and report writing applications
  • Highly developed communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills to in order to investigate compliance matters, variances on the monthly P&L result and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Some experience in automation of manual processes
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
