Recently celebrating ten years with the Ambition Group and over 16 in the Industry, Nardia Allison-Nichol has an enviable record of success across the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) market.

Nardia graduated with an Honours degree in Arts from Sydney University before gaining several years practical technology experience in a hands-on technology role.  Joining a Technology recruitment firm, Computemp in August 1993, she started to build her career as a recruitment account manager.  With a flexible approach to the Industry Nardia has worked within most of the sub-sectors; including government, commerce and industry and the banking and finance sectors.

In April 2000 Ambition acquired Computemp and Nardia continued her successful career under the new direction of the Ambition Group.   Working as a team Manager, she built and developed internal teams who were skilled in client relationship development and first class recruitment delivery.  Currently Nardia is focused on roles within Ambition Technology’s Business Information team, encompassing  Business Intelligence, Business and Data Analysis, Data Warehouse and Architecture as well as Project and Program Managers, testers and technical writers.

What do you like about the technology recruitment industry?

The people. I really love understanding how businesses utilise technology and the way it is constantly changing.

What drives you?

My commitment to people and making a difference.

You have been very successful in your role, why do you think that is?

There are a number of reasons although I believe it is my commitment to people (clients and candidates)- I don’t let people down or make promises I can’t keep. This really motivates me. I also invest a lot of time and energy into business development and would say all of my clients who have the capacity to hire would be repeat business.

What service do you provide your Clients and Candidates?

We provide the full 360 degree recruitment at Ambition with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. We also hold regular events and have recently formed a technology blog site on our homepage with a focus on community.

How would you describe your relationship with your Clients and Candidates?

Strong and committed. I take the time to understand their individual wants, needs and culture fit and have a strong eye for detail.

What have been the highlights of your career?

• Building Government team from scratch

• Managing the top Technology team during the GFC

 What do you like about the team at Ambition?

I like the culture of the team. We are hard working yet maintain a healthy balance. The team is very supportive and encouraging and we work really well together.

The people, culture and what we stand for. We are all very like minded and driven to succeed. There is a lot of integrity here – to each other as well as to clients and candidates.

What advice would you give candidates who are looking for a role with a professional recruitment company?

Make sure they are prepared to meet you and take the time to understand your skill set.

What advice would you give to Clients who are resourcing?

Work with a recruitment company that takes the time to understand not only your technical environment but also your specific culture and team dynamics.
