Contracting, also referred to as 'temping' or 'interim' work - as opposed to a permanent role -contracting has grown to become a norm among professionals when it comes to choosing a new career or changing jobs.

Contracting offers an alternative to permanent recruitment and has its pros and cons for both the person in the role, as well as the hiring organisation. These roles can last for as little as a day or a week, or even run for a period of months or years, depending on the reason why the contractor was hired or how the role progresses as the contractor continues to work.

Maybe you have already experienced working in a contract position, or maybe you would like to know more about this way of working? Whatever stage you are at in your career, Ambition can advise you on how contracting can be the perfect solution to your next move. The opportunities we handle when it comes to contracting vary across industries and specialisation.

You can search for available contract roles by using our role search function on our jobs page. Please note however that due to the speed at which organisations require
contractors, some roles may not always be listed. It is advised to contact one of our experienced recruiters to hear about all our current opportunities.

Why hire a contractor?

Hiring Without Headcount

Your organisation is under a headcount freeze but still in need of resources, hiring a contractor should be part of your recruitment strategy. Headcount Management Contractors can be hired by Ambition and parked under our headcount while they work on your projects, therefore all payroll and administrative responsibilities are managed by Ambition, including staff benefits such as health insurance.

Flexibility

Get the resources when you need them and how you need them regardless of the duration. Whether you have critical deadlines or financial year end work that needs the extra support, we have contractors who can work on a short contract period from 3 months onwards.

Coverage

Contractors can help your business headcount shortages by covering short-term resource needs during maternity, sick and sabbatical leave as well as short-term deadlines. They are also excellent for year-end crunch time.

Bigger Talent Pool

There is a growing pool of candidates who prefer contract roles where they are able to hone their skill sets on different projects. By opening up your roles to contractors, your talent pool increases beyond candidates who are only looking for permanent roles.

Testing before Commitment

Hiring a talent on a contract basis also allows you to assess if the candidate is a right fit for your business before you commit to a permanent hire.

Experience

Our contractors are highly experienced and possess the skill-sets required to complement your team. We have profiles of contractors available across a broad range of industries and functions for your next hire.

Peace Of Mind

We maintain a regular communication with you and the contractor during the project duration to ensure that everything is running well and there are no problems.

Readily Availability

Our contractors are fully referenced and we are able to leverage our established global network and extensive database to promptly get you the support you need.

Currently contracting with us?

Ambition utilise an efficient web-based system called AstutePayroll to capture the hours that you work, replacing a previous method of paper timesheets.
Upon commencement of your contract you will receive a username and login details from Ambition.

Simply login to the system and advise hours/days worked. The approver will then receive an email which will allow them to review the details and accept/reject. You are also able to view timesheet history which tracks each action taken on a timesheet and allows all parties to track the status of the timesheet.

Contractors will need to complete their details for the week worked by the following Monday with payment being actioned by close of business on Wednesday.
