Heather Price

CEO, Symmetra

Heather began her career in South Africa in 1990, establishing a consultancy specialising in diversity management and the dismantling of apartheid in the workplace – nominated as one of the leading Human Resource consultancies in Southern Africa. She opened the doors of Diversity Consulting in the Asia Pacific region in 2003 with its Head Office in Australia specialising in the provision of a wide range of solutions to address diversity and inclusion.

Diversity Consulting has recently rebranded as Symmetra, expanding its service offerings to include diversity, sustainability and ethics- with the objective of positioning clients with a competitive edge through driving principled performance.

Heather has numerous publications to her name, has presented at international conferences in the USA, Italy, Australia, South Africa and Singapore and was nominated to sit on the Expert Panel which ratifies the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmark Tool™ in 2006 and 2011. Heather’s local and international multidisciplinary team of experts has positioned Symmetra to provide a global consulting service to numerous blue chip clients in both the private and public sector on embedding an inclusive workplace culture. She is engaged regularly to work locally and internationally with the C-suite on the Business imperative of Diversity & Inclusion and on counteracting Unconscious Bias in the workplace. Utilising unique tools, process and content designed by Symmetra, Heather’s team of experts conduct diagnostics, advise on D & I best practice, policy & strategy, and facilitate cutting edge and innovative training.

Private sector clients include Goldman Sachs, JBWere, CBA, Westpac, NAB, Citi, Credit Suisse, PwC, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Allens Arthur Robinson, King & Wood Mallesons, Telstra, Wesfarmers, Coles, Kmart, Origin Energy, BHPBilliton Uranium, BMA Coal and Bupa. She is best known across the globe for designing the highly innovative software training and auditing tool, The Diversity Challenge and the Unconscious Bias Program, now being used by leading organisations worldwide in the US, UK, Ireland, Europe, Asia, South America and Australia to effect culture change and embed inclusion. In recognition of the contribution of Symmetra’s Unconscious Bias program to opening the doors to gender diversity in CBA and their achievement of winning the Global Catalyst award 2102, Heather Price was invited by the CEO to attend the Catalyst award dinner with CBA in New York.
